Anger Management Agency, Inc. — for High-Strung Actors
A new talent agency takes advantage of a spate of talent who are acting out. The boutique agency carves out a niche area of management in Hollywood.
BEVERLY HILLS — Got anger? Still want to have an acting career? That's possible now, with the latest addition to the elite powerhouse talent agencies in town. They're called The Anger Management Agency.

"They're victims of their own success, and they need more specialized attention which addresses their particular needs. That's where we come in."

Candice Stockwell, AMA founder

"We saw a real need in Hollywood for such a place." says Candice Stockwell, one of AMA's founders. "Talented artists like Winona [Ryder] and Nick [Nolte] are the most perturbed clients that we've signed recently. These people don't need our condemnation. They're victims of their own success, and they need more specialized attention which addresses their particular needs for personal expression. That's where we come in. Sure, we coddle them at times, but that's our job. We think it's a win-win situation for everyone: With our focused support, they'll act out less and have enough time leftover to concentrate on their actual, on-screen acting."

Stockwell and her partners emphasize, however, that while they can provide an extra level of protection for their clients, that they themselves are not therapists. They admit that they might "hook up" a client with a therapist to get at the source of his or her anger.

Asked if the pool of available actors was broad enough to base a talent agency around, Stockwell exclaims, "Oh, I assure you, there are plenty of other angry, bitter or otherwise frustrated actors and celebrities who are bursting at the seams. Don't lose sleep over that."

NEW TALENT ON THE BLOCK: Actor Michael Richards joins Mel Gibson and Nick Nolte as Anger Management Agency's latest talent.
