William Shatner's Brain Donated to Celebrity Museum
Building on the success of donating a recently-passed kidney stone, actor William Shatner has topped himself and donated his brain to the Celebrity Junk Museum. Prior to his brain's removal, Shatner called it "the ultimate piece of Star Trek trivia — plus I can play my character on Boston Legal just fine without it." Scientists who removed Shatner's brain note that it "curiously resembles the starship Enterprise." Museum visitors can view the brain during abnormal business hours.
Woody Allen's Foreskin Featured at Celeb Museum
The acquisition of actor/director Woody Allen's foreskin is considered a major art coup by art critics around the world. The foreskin, originally sold at a Belgian auction house for $750,000, was purchased by The Celebrity Junk Museum in October, 2005. The famed foreskin is now on display as part of a Hannukah exhibit, "On the Forefront," celebrating Jewish heritage within the film and television industry.
Tom Selleck's Eyebrow, Rodney Dangerfield's Eye on Display
The Eyes Have It is a stunning retrospective about celebrities who are known for their eye-related features. Tom Selleck's prominent, once-shaved brow has been meticulously reconstructed and is now on display. The eyebrow was saved by a beauty technician who once did some facial work on Selleck after his brow accidentally caught on some industrial strength Velcro. Also featured in the exhibit is actor Malcolm McDowell's fiendish eyelashes, lifted from the set of A Clockwork Orange by a propmaster after shooting ceased. The crown jewel of the exhibit, however, is the floating eyeball of comedian Rodney Dangerfield, contained in a goldfish bowl and buoyed by tiny air bubbles. "We hope that museum-goers," says curator Priss Flatley, "will appreciate the beauty of it instead of throwing up."
